As part of Military Saves Week 2014, scheduled for Monday, February 24 through Friday, February 28, USAG Benelux is spreading the savings message, and urging the community to participate in Military Saves Week and take the Military Saves pledge.
“Military Saves Week is a great opportunity to help Service Members, Civilians, Families, and Retirees in our community to “Set a Goal, Make a Plan, and Save Automatically,” said Rick DeChaineau, SHAPE ACS Financial Readiness Program Manager, quoting the 2014 Military Saves Week theme.
To help members of the community save more successfully and encourage them to save, Army Community Service is partnering with Andrews Federal Credit Union to offer U.S. personnel and their families within the Benelux a variety of seminars on personal finance. The seminars will take place in Brussels, Chievres/SHAPE, and Schinnen. For additional information call Army Community Service or send a message via the ACS Information and Referral page.
Military Saves Week is coordinated by America Saves and the Consumer Federation of America in partnership with the Department of Defense. It is an annual opportunity for organizations to promote effective and responsible savings behavior and to provide an avenue for individuals to assess their own saving status.
